Thanyani Madzhuta the Kruger National
Park, Heritage Site Offer, plead with the
`members of the community to apply first if they would like to do
anything in the park.
He said, “We are pleading with the
members of the community or either the tourists whose beloved ones perished
here to inform the Heritage site management the day and time they would like to
perform their rituals.”
Last year this paper published the
story whereby tourists prayed rituals and past the photos on the rocks in the
Kruger without the consent of the officials.
“We don’t want a situation whereby
people just come in to the Kruger
National Park to perform
rituals, and if the animals attack them. The blame lay against Kruger National
Park.” Thanyani Madzhuta said.
Madzhuta told Bvunza Mutupo SADC that
right now there are many things to see in the Kruger National Park
than seeing animals.
“We would like to inform members of
the community and our patrons that they can also visit our Kruger Heritage
sites in the Kruger national Park. We have many heritage sites within the Kruger National
Park which we would expect community as well as
our tourists would visits also.” Thanyani Madzhuta said.
Madzhuta told BVUNZAMUTUPO SADC
VOICE that there are 588 Heritage sites within the Kruger National Park.
“People who would like to visit the
Heritage sites should inform the Heritage Management on time and they have to
come in the morning the same applies to those who want to pray rituals should
come in the morning. Community should give its time to visit these Heritage
sites, because there are lots of things to learn from them.” said Madzhuta.
Kruger National Park spokesperson, William Mabasa said,
“Community should know that there are many species animals that need to be
protected by all of us. We are very much worried about the decreasing in number
of our rhinos poached. Last year we lost about 601 rhinos, and these first two
months of 2014 the Kruger
National Park lost 74
rhinos so far, of which 36 alleged suspects
arrested.”
``
William Mabasa
advised the tourism information Officers to take the information and spread it
to the community.
