Bushbuckridge local Municipality under department of (EDPE) Economic Development, Planning and Environment handed over Global Positioning System devices (GPS) to the Local Traditional Authorities on the 13th of February 2014 at the Thulamahashe.
“There was a big challenge when comes to the allocation of residential areas to the community. We are giving the chiefs and indunas these devices so that they keep the records. This would help the induna not to two people one piece of land,” said Foras Sibuyi.
Forasi Sibuyi told North Eastern Witness that Bushbuckridge is the first and the only local municipality in Mpumalanga to have offered Local Chiefs such valuable devices and helping to make their work easier.
Acting Executive Mayor MMC F. Sibuyi edged community members to be patient when it comes to land allocations. He further reminded Local Chiefs that government and Traditional Council will partners in developing the councilor.
“The devices will make their work and there are portable. Allocation of land the communal land becomes a notational crisis.”
