COPE
DEMANDS AN ADMISSION FROM PREMIER DAVID MABUZA THAT THE ANC IS FAILING
BY BRIAN KAJENGO
COPE in Mpumalanga demands an admission from Premier
David Mabuza that the ANC is failing in the province based on the fact that
municipalities continue to receive disclaimers despite his bully threats that
officials would be fired if this continued.
“It is by now an open secret that five
municipalities in the province received disclaimers with some repeating
themselves in this embarrassing gesture.” Riot Hlatshwayo said.
Riot told Bvunzamutupo SADC VOICE that COPE
has always called for the political heads of municipalities, the mayors, to be
removed and be replaced with relevant and committed officials who would be able
to turn the strategies in municipalities around for the benefit of the
communities they are serving.
Certain municipalities such as
Bushbuckridge and Thaba Chweu received disclaimers year after year and despite
them having been put under administration on several occasions, the communities
under them continue to be without water and other important factors needed to
complete service delivery.
“As this presser is being written, there is
no water in the Bushbuckridge area. This is one of the municipalities that
received disclaimers one after the other,” said COPE Mpumalanga provincial chairman,” Comrade
Sizile Ndlovu today (Monday February 10, 2014.
He
said the interpretation of the above is nothing short of failure in the part of
the ANC and demanded that Mabuza himself must now admit that indeed the ANC was
a failure.
