COP FACING THE FULL ARM OF LAW

Just
after one day the Provincial Commissioner of Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Thulani
Ntobela encouraged members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to be
exemplary to the public in their respective duties by avoiding corruption and
criminal activities as they arrested just like any other corrupt criminal.
The fuming Lt Gen Ntobela stated clearly that
any police official found to be committing crime or involved in corrupt activities
be arrested, and treat like any other criminal.
The
Provincial Commissioner spoken condemning crime and corruption, another member,
a 27-year-old constable stationed at Secunda arrested.
The arrest the corrupt constable follows an investigation
by police where they interviewed a suspect who nabbed for a house breaking
incident that occurred in the first week of February 2014, in Secunda.
The
22-year-old suspect admitted and implicated the constable to have been involved
in another burglary that had been committed between the night of 17 and 18
January 2014, also in Secunda, wherein they allegedly stole a television.
He
further told the police that the television allegedly taken by the constable
who instructed him to wash a state vehicle, and then released him.
The
27 year old corrupt cop arrested and the television already sold to another,
but he later on locates his buyer. The television recovered.
The
constable nabbed on the spot and charged with allegations of corruption,
defeating the ends of justice and possession of suspected stolen property.
Both
suspects are due to appear before court facing two counts of burglaries.
“My
concern is about members who behave in this manner which reputed by the law. Police
members should behave themselves, if not; their colleagues will not hesitate to
handcuff them.” LT General Thulani Ntobela said
