collision on N4 Road
claims six lives in Mpumalanga

At least six
people lost their lives to road accident after there was collided head on with
an articulated truck on the N4
Road between Ngodwana and Elandshoek towards
Nelspruit.
Mpumalanga
Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC has called on for urgent
investigation from police and increased vigilance from motorists following an
accident that has just claimed six lives on Monday 10 February 2014.
All six
confirmed dead at the scene of crime.
They are three
males and three females, and three people survived from the truck and they did
not sustain any injuries. The police are investigating.

Shongwe is sending condolences to the bereaved families. “Our thoughts are with
the families in these difficult times,” Shongwe said.

Shongwe has also warned bad drivers about the dangers of negligence and not
obeying the rules of the roads.
MEC Shongwe
said that it is very sad that road carnages are predominantly affecting the
lives of innocent people. He further said it was about time that drivers
prioritise road safety especially when carrying people.
The MEC
said, “By punishing reckless drivers, the government will be sending strong
messages to reckless drivers and this will assist in making the roads safer.”
