The province is
waiting for the provincial state of address
BRIAN KAJENGO
The preparations for the official opening of the
Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature as well as the delivery of the State of the
Province Address are proceeding well and are already at an advance stage.
This significant annual event, which will be held on
the 28 February 2014, comes immediately after the State President has delivered
the State of the Nation Address in Parliament in Cape Town.
This will be the sixth rise of the Mpumalanga
Provincial Legislature where the Premier, Mr DD Mabuza, will deliver the State
of the Province Address, his last for this term, before the 2014 elections.
To ensure wider public access to this major event, the
Legislature has secured satellite broadcast venues in the three districts.
These will be taking place at Mjindini Community Hall, Waterval Boven Community
Hall and at Secunda’s Sasol Club in eMbalenhle. It is estimated that almost 700
people will attend in each venue.
The main event will take place in Nelspruit at the
Legislature where a specially designed chamber will accommodate about 1200
people.
As the Legislature we are now ready to host an event
of this magnitude in all four venues.
All former Speakers, Premiers and business people are
expected to be part of this event which will also be a celebration of South
Africa’s twenty years of democracy.
