Police Deputy police Minister on Outreach Programme, Fight Against Women
and Children Abuse
On Thursday 14 August 2014 Deputy police Minister will be at Pinear near Nelspruit meeting with the residents.
The abuse of women and children is a
bone of contention to all walks of life, be that may in parliament or general
public. In fact in 1995, parliament has put more focus on crimes against women
and children hence they are rapidly increasing and the scourge is depriving the
victims of their dignity.
“We have also observed countless number
of Non Governmental Organisations pledging their support in assisting
government departments in the fight against the abuse of women and children
however, we must acknowledge the fact that the numbers are still incomparable
high and Mpumalanga
is not exceptional.” Deputy Minister said.
It is against this background that the
Deputy Minister of Police, the National Commissioner joined by the National
Component Head of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences
Unit and the Acting Provincial Commissioner, cordially invite the media to an
outreach programme to address the concerns regarding these crimes and to find
mutual ground.
