MEC KHOLWANE TO CLOSE THE CONSUMER MONTH IN MATSULU

MEC Sikhumbuzo Eric Kholwane,MPL will lead the closing celebration of the “Consumer Month” in Matsulu, about sixty kilometers east of Nelspruit in the Mbombela Local Municipality.

The celebration will mark the end of the activities that were planned to sensitize Mpumalanga communities about spending money correctly and to also inculcate the spirit of saving among children.

The event takes place at Matsulu on Saturday 2 August 2014.

The MEC values the Rights of Consumers and also strives to promote good business practices between consumers and business establishments.  In demonstrating his commitment to good business practice and the protection of consumer rights, early in June this year, the MEC launched a second Mpumalanga Consumer Court in Gert Sibande District Municipality,  and Bethal.

The Mpumalanga Consumer Court was established in 2009 and has to date recovered about R16 million on behalf of consumers.
