“We thank Old Mutual as the potential funder of this initiative. Its budget was only R15 000 by then, and now it’s over R4m annually.
“Music is a platform for the police to release stress since our members come across different challenges on their line of duties.” Brigadier Harry Shabangu said.

Brigadier Harry Shabangu speaks during the Mpumalanga Provincial Music competition in Shatale near Bushbuckridge on Friday 1 August 2014.
The competition based on two police choirs two choirs Arcornhoek Cluster versus Gert Sibande/ Nkangala Districts.

Provincial POPCRU Chairperson, Life Monini told BVUNZAMUTUPO NEWS that music is the food of ears and it motivates people to show off their grievances.
“Music is our strengthening culture. Whenever we toy- toy or March we had to sing motivational songs. We also enhance our members to serve the interest of our community all the time.” Life Monini said.

All the speakers praise the Gert Sibande/ Nkangala team which won the competition to represent the province come second September in North West.
