THE NATIONAL YOUTH CHEFS TRAINING
PROGRAMME 2013/2014 CERTIFICATE AWARDS CEREMONY
The
Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust (MRTT) Hospitality and Tourism Academy
invites the media to join us for a graduation ceremony of the National Youth
Chefs Training Programme, class of 2013/2014.
In
response to the President’s identified developmental priorities, the National
Department of Tourism established and funded a national Youth Chefs Training
programme as part of its’ Expanded Public Works Program and engaged the
services of the South African Chefs Association with the aim of partnering with
industry for the provision of workplaces for skills training.
The
programme was rolled-out in the Nine(9) provinces in June 2011 with 25
hospitality institutions offering skills training to a total of 800 aspirant
young chefs towards certificates,
diplomas and advanced diploma in Culinary Arts (Food Preparation) from City and
Guilds International; an industry renowned training and examination body.
The MRTT Hospitality and Tourism
Academy will
be awarding 18 certificates, 14 diplomas and Seven (7) advanced diplomas to
successful participants.
