Ndzimba and Sithole, both Mozambican citizens, arrested at Nelspruit CBD on Friday, 05 September 2014, while Sono, Nyoni and Ncube arrested on Saturday, 06 September 2014, at Mataffin outside Nelspruit.

On Saturday, 30 August 2014, a 16-year-old teenager gave birth to a baby boy and the baby stolen on the same day. Since then police were hard at work with attempts to find the people involved in the theft of the baby. A sigh of relief breathed when police managed to trace and arrest the suspects who have appeared before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 08 September 2014.

They remanded in custody, and expected to reappear on 16 September 2014, facing allegations of conspiracy to commit crime and kidnapping respectively.

“I commend the high level of professionalism, determination and dedication displayed by the detectives in the province in particular how they handled this matter. I know that we have not recovered the baby yet but have hope and trust in them that they will also re-unite the baby with the parent. The police support the campaign of no violence against women and children and therefore we cannot allow this to happen to this teenager (mother)”, said the Provincial Commissioner.
