Eastern Cape rising stars are jetting off to the City of Gold!

8 artists 8 Hours 8 seconds 8 Zero rand Only 1 night

As part of their first ever national launch, the Eastern Cape Audio Visual Centre Records (ECAVC Records) will be introducing eight of its artists to the music scene and launching some debut albums in Johannesburg on September 12 in the Bassline Newtown, the home of jazz and blues live performances.

They will be arriving 04 September in Johannesburg and are available for interviews.
The music new comers expected to take audience by storm when they perform in the city of Gold on Friday 12 September 2014.

According to EVAVCDirector Sy Ntuli, the idea behind the tour is to showcase new talent and promote the Eastern Cape arts to the rest of the country. It has taken over three months of planning and preparations for the tour.

 The tour will end back in the Eastern Cape with a huge celebration and welcoming music concert.

In celebration of the heritage month, the artists will showcase their talent during the 2014 Moshito music conference.  This year Moshito music conference celebrates Eastern Cape artists.  

The ECAVC Records talent consists of newly released projects by Csana from Pondoland in the former Transkei, the new songbird Afro soul singer Thandokazi Mbethe, who will be performing for the first time in Joburg.

Other artists include gospel group Chosen and Andile &1266 Gospel, Gunzo the hip hop, Nosiviwe gospel artist, the Port Elizabeth rock band-Shoelace and kwaito boys Mboza.

“We have signed and recorded the best talent from the Eastern Cape and we are bringing this cream to Gauteng,” said Director ECAVC Mr. Sy Ntuli.

MEC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Pemmy Majodina expected be at the launch at which multi-award winning artist Thandiswa Mazwai will be Master of Ceremonies.

The new kids on the block are set to mesmerize music fans and their Eastern Cape counterparts with live performances and offer a taste of the brand new recorded talent from the province.

They are also billed to appear at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz to held later this month at the Sandton Convention Centre

“We are ready to lift the Eastern Cape flag high in the city of gold and this is the once off opportunity. I am a proud rural girl celebrating my heritage by showcasing my music to many fans,” Says Csana the artist.


Tickets for the Bassline concert are now available. This will be the ultimate show of music hosted by Thandiswa Mazwai. Doors open at 7:pm. Cover charge R80..
