MINISTER MOKONYANE’S VISIT TO MARITE, BUSHBUCKRIDGE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms
Nomvula Mokonyane, in partnership with the Premier of Mpumalanga, Mr. David
Mabuza will officially launch the Mathibela Water Reticulation Project in
Marite, Bushbuckridge
Local Municipality
The Mathibela village has
2 015 population size and 395 households. The Mathibela project is one of
the 25 water reticulation projects that initiated under the intervention
announced by the Minister and the Premier in Bushbuckridge Local
Municipality
The project is a result of a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department and the Mpumalanga Provincial
Government in June 2013, which brought in Rand Water as the implementing agent
for the project, considering the capacity within the entity.
The objective of the project is to improve
the delivery of water and water services and access to the community within
Marite. This will happen by developing and constructing a water reticulation
system and connecting municipal customers to the water supply.
