KRUGER NATIONAL PARK WEEK ACTIVITIES FOR ARBOR WEEK

The activities will take place as follows:
Monday 8 September 2014
KNP Management will host Political Parties from Vhembe and Mopani District Municipalities. Each party will be expected to bring in their executive committee. As South Africa celebrates the 20 years of democracy, let us not forget the rhino poaching scourge or poaching of any other animal hence we would like to engage the political parties because they have influence within their communities.
Venue: Mopani Camp – Conference Centre (nearest gate is Phalaborwa)
Time: 10:00

Tuesday 9 September 2014
KNP Management will once more host a group of people with disabilities from around Phalaborwa and Tzaneen areas. The idea is to provide them with easy access into the Park, as they too, have the right to South African’s natural heritage.
Venue: Mopani Camp – Conference Centre (nearest gate is Phalaborwa)
Time: 11:00

Wednesday 10 September 2014
KNP Management will host a Youth Seminar involving young people from areas around the southern part of the Park. This group cannot be left out as they have a huge impact in the country as a whole; and need to be educated on the effects of poaching in general with specific reference to rhino poaching as it prevails in the country at the moment. There will be speakers to give an overview on rhino poaching, highlight the importance of conservation and a focus on tourism too. During the summit, the youth will be split into groups so they can brainstorm and come up with resolutions or suggestions regarding how the country should deal with the rhino poaching.
Venue:  Phabeni Environmental Education Centre (nearest gate – Phabeni)
Time: 10:00

KNP Management will again host Political Parties from Ehlanzeni District Municipality. Each party will be expected to bring in their executive committee. As South Africa celebrates the 20 years of democracy, let us not forget the rhino poaching scourge or poaching of any other animal hence we would like to engage the political parties as they have influence within their communities.
