Welverdiend Youth Services to celebrate Mandela Day in style

The youth of Welverdiend Youth Services has decided to honour the former states man Nelson Mandale’s birth day on a high note.

The Welverdiend Youth Services has joined hands with SANParks to host a rhino poaching awareness campaign at Welverdiend, a village outside Orpen Gate on Friday 18 July 201 4.

Organized by the Welverdiend Youth Services (WYS), the event meant to raise awareness against the rhino poaching scourge.

Various stakeholders comprising of various government departments, neighbouring nature reserves (including KNP), Tribal Authority, Local Municipality, MTPA, media etc will form part of the event.


The event start by a walk from Orpen Gate to Southern Wildlife College (includes collection of litter), then a 10 km marathon – from the College, via God’s will then Mahlale High, and  Formal programme at Mahlale High School (near Welverdiend Primary)
