SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL PAVILLION OPENED AT FILDA ANGOLA

The Councillor Economic at the Embassy of South Africa in Angola, Mr Madileke Ramushu officially opened the SA National Pavillion at the Angolan Feira Internacional de Angola (FILDA) trade exhibition yesterday. The trade exhibition is currently taking place in Luanda until Sunday, 27 July 2014.

The pavillion is a platform for the 27 South African business delegates to exhibit their products and services with the aim of increasing exports of South African manufactured products to Angola and to create new partnerships.

Ramushu expressed his optimism for the fair to deliver concrete results in the form of trade partnerships and investments.

“The two countries present key areas of opportunities to deepen mutually beneficial economic relations,” said Ramushu.

He echoed President Jacob Zuma’s call for radical economic transformation where all South Africans called to participate in building an inclusive economy anchored by the industrial sector.

Ramushu said Angola could be a strategic partner in this regard and contribute to the development process.

Ramushu who later on cut the ribbon and officially invited the Angolans to explore the South African companies’ products, also wished the delegation well in relation to acquiring leads and business partnerships.

The Chief Executive Officer of Thandi Wines, a Western Cape based company, Mr Venon Henn said it had only been two days of exhibiting his wines at the trade fair, but he was already starting to see the benefits.

“I am hopeful that the leads I just acquired will provide tangible results and that I will soon export my wines to Angola,” said Henn who is part of the delegation.
