Tabling of 2014/ 2015 Budget and Policy Speeches for Health and Social
Development
The MEC for Social Development Ms Nomsa
Mtsweni and the MEC for Health Mr Gillion Mashego will jointly table the
2014/15 Policy and Budget Speeches for the Department of Social Development and
Health; respectively.
MEC for Social Development Ms Nomsa Mtsweni
will expand on the departmental plans to:
§ Expand and accelerate quality services to children including ECD.
§ Coordinate and monitor development interventions including food security.
§ Reduce substance abuse.
§ Provide and strengthen services to
families.
§ Enhance capacity, capability and
partnership with all stakeholders and civil society.
§ Strengthen VEP services
MEC for Health
will pay attention on amongst others:
§
Increasing life expectancy
§
Decreasing maternal and child mortality
§
Combating HIV and AIDS
§
Strengthening Health system
