Re-ANC
fails to assist communities even during times of sorrow
COPE
in Mpumalanga
accuses the ANC of failing to assist the community even during times of
sorrows.
This
is an ongoing problem that has unveiled itself following the death of a woman
at Thusanang near Mkhuhlu.
The
Manzini family lost their loved one last week and went to the local induna to
ask for assistance with a grader that would prepare the road from their house
to the graveyard but were then referred to the ANC local councilor.
The
councilor allegedly wanted to know if the family was going to vote for the ANC
in the upcoming elections and when the family told him that a person’s vote was
his or her secret, the councilor refused to assist.
COPE
says this is what people go through when they do not support the ruling party
despite the fact that the Constitution is there to assist anyone within the
country.
As
COPE we call upon the communities to acknowledge this and decide on voting for
a political party that is ready to make drastic changes in governance.
It is sad that the road that was
damaged by rains, now has to be used by mourners despite the Bushbuckridge
municipality being aware of the situation.
