legislature reach people

Plans have started in earnest in preparation for the Legislature programme of "Taking the Legislature to the People (TLP)”.  The programme scheduled to take place during the week of the 02 to 06 March 2015 in the area of EMalahleni Local Municipality.

The Legislature expected to evaluate programmes and projects implemented by the provincial government on behalf of the people. The legislature does this through its constitutional mandate of oversight. Today, Members of the Legislature visited EMalahleni Local Municipality where the Legislature will oversight government projects in the area.

This week Members of the Legislature will commence with the pre-oversight work by visiting existing projects in preparation for the March 2015 TLP.

 Today (27 February), the Members of the Legislature and Councillors from EMalahleni Municipality were briefed by researchers on key projects to be visited during the anticipated week-long programme of “Taking the Legislature to the People.
