Cops seems
to be on the winning battle against offenders
Embalenhle – Tomorrow Wednesday 7 January 2014, at
least nine suspects aged between 17 and 32 expected to appear before the
Evander Magistrate’s Court for an armed robbery charge.
It’s alleged that the suspects accosted a security guard who was
responding to an alarm in one of the retail shops in Embalenhle and robbed him
of a bullet proof vest, 9mm Arcus loaded with 15 rounds, Nokia cellphone, car
keys and bank card.
Preliminary information indicates that the security guard went to
the shop during closing time and two of the suspects pointed him with firearms
and searched him whereupon other accomplices in the process joined them.
After having robbed the guard of the mentioned items with an
estimated value of R10 000, they then fled the scene on foot.
The police in Embalenhle organised an operation during the early
hours of yesterday, 05 January 2015 and pounced at the villains.
They managed to recover the bullet proof vest and confiscated
another firearm other than the one robbed from the guard.
Other items are still missing which suggest that there may other
suspects still at large of which we request the public to assist with information
to contact Lieutenant Simon Mlotshwa at 082 970 5774.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General (Adv) Meshack
Nogwanya hailed the SAPS members in Embalenhle for the swift arrest of the
suspects.
