SOUTH AFRICAN BUSINESS DELEGATION ARRIVES IN ANGOLA TO EXHIBIT THEIR PRODUCTS
AND SERVICES

A business
delegation consisting of 27 representatives from South African companies has arrived
in Angola
to exhibit their products and services. These companies will be participating
in the Feira Internacional de Angola (FILDA) trade exhibition that takes place
in the Angolan capital of Luanda
from today to Sunday 27 July 2014.
The Department of
Trade and Industry (the dti) has
organised a National Pavilion at the exhibition, where an exhibition space of 400
square metres secured. the dti has
also financially assisted the companies to participate. These companies include
Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), emerging exporters, women-owned enterprises
and large companies.
Participating
companies will showcase their products with the aim of increasing exports of
South African manufactured products to Angola which were standing at R9.6
billion in 2013.
In welcoming the
South African delegation to Angola ,
the Councillor Economic at the Embassy of South Africa in Luanda , Mr Madileke Ramushu
urged delegates to follow proper channels and seek government’s advice when
they enter into business contracts.
“This is an
opportunity for you to promote your products and services, but you need to
follow correct channels when the opportunities of partnerships arise,” added
Ramushu.
The Head of
Business Development at Standard Bank in Luanda, Mr Ricardo Sengo advised the
delegation to take advantage of the opportunities in Angola, which are amongst
others, infrastructure development, telecommunication and industrialisation.
Sengo said the
exhibition will provide a platform for the companies to tap into the Angolan
market. He further wished the delegates well for their participation and
reminded them to be mindful of the challenges that may delay their progress in
doing business in the country.
