THE MEC FOR HEALTH IN MPUMALANGA, GILLION MASHEGO SENDS HIS CONDOLENCES TO BEREAVED FAMILIES OF THE BUS ACCIDENT VICTIMS

The MEC for Health in Mpumalanga, Gillion Mashego has learnt with shock about the bus accident that occurred this morning around 6 am between Carino and Tekwane South near kaNyamazane.

 It is alleged that the bus which was ferrying learners to school collided head on with cash in transit truck. About 97 people sustained minor injuries, 16 sustained serious injuries and only two (2) fatalities have been reported.

“I would like to send my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the two (2) deceased who passed away during the accident. We have made sure that we dispatch our Emergency Services (EMS) vehicles to ferry the injured to various hospitals. I wish all those who sustained injuries during the accidents a speedy recovery. Our doctors will work around the clock to provide them with the necessary assistance they require.” Gillion Masheho said.

The injured have been hospitalized at the Rob Ferreira in Mbombela and Themba hospital in Kabokweni. Others have been admitted at Medi-Clinic in Mbombela
