TRIO TO APPEAR FOR THEFT AND POSSESSION
OF SUSPECTED STOLEN PROPERTY
White River - Three men aged
between 38 and 51, to appear before the White River Magistrate’s Court Friday
25 March 2015, facing charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen
property.
The appearance of the trio followed a intensive
effort by police and J&M Security guards.
On Monday 23 March 2015, at
approximately 13:50, police were summoned by J&M Security guards after they
found a man with tools suspected to have been stolen.
When police arrived at the scene, they
found the suspect with construction equipment. On further investigation, police
uncovered that the equipment were stolen in various places around White River.
Police managed to track down and busted
his accomplices, of which one of them was identified as being responsible to
transport the stolen items. More items which include a stamping machine,
generators, wheel barrows, ladders, grinders, brush cutters, chain saw,
concrete power drill, bicycles to an estimated value of approximately R200 000,
were found and seized from the suspects’ houses.
Some of the items have already been
identified and handed over to a lawful owner who owns a construction company.
Police urge community members
especially from White River and surroundings who have lost such items to come
forth to the police station and check whether they can identify some of the
found items.
