MEC FOR COGTA WELCOMES THE PROSECUTION OF PERPETRATORS OF ARSON

MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) in Mpumalanga, Hon. Refilwe Mtshweni welcomes the successful prosecution of those who committed an act of arson in a property belonging to the former Municipal Manager of Dr J.S Moroka. “The prosecution will send out a strong message that people who commit such crimes have no place in our society and that the law will take its course against them,’ she said.

MEC Mtshweni added that people have a Constitutional right to express their concerns; however that be done within the ambit of law. “We are pleased as a department that the law has preceded this unfortunate act and that the perpetrators were found guilty of arson and attempted murder,” she added.
