EFF owes us R82500 for transport

EFF owes us R82500 for transport

By BRIAN KAJENGO

When EFF had its rally in Bushbuckridge it hired 55 taxis to ferry people from various area to Thulamahashe Stadium last month.

Now there is tension between taxi owners and taxi drivers against Taxi owner Jonas Malope alleging that he might have be paid and hid the money.

“I though it was a real tenders when EFF members asked me to appoint 55 taxis to carry people from different parts of Bushbuckridge, and now things not doing well at my side.
“Members insist my taxis to transport people from Bushbuckridge to Acornhoek until they get paid by EFF.  The person who approached me through phone doesn’t take my calls anymore. I am just praying that EFF could pay these people.” Jonas Selowe said.

Another taxi driver, Thabo Nyalungu who is in hot water for taking the taxi to transport people to the rally without the consent of his boss is working without pay.

“I am not paid because my boss told me that he will pay me when EFF pays him.  Now I don’t know what to do because I have to pay fees for my sibling who is at tertiary, but I don’t have money. If EFF don’t pay us we are to fight the person whom EFF.” Thabo Nyalungu said.

Prince Selowe who works for his brother is in trouble also.

He said, “EFF must pay so that the relation I have with my brother doesn’t go sour. My brother is not talking to me because I took his Taxi without permission and I am not paid.”
One EFF member who couldn’t be named told daily Sun that Taxi members will be paid between 9and 10 this month.

EFF Mpumalanga Premier Candidate Collen Sedibe told Bvunzamutupo news  that its true they not paid but his party is trying to put things together.

“We are raising the money to pay the Taxis we hired there is no reason for us not to pay them after they rendered service to us.”
