THREE SUSPECTS TO
APPEAR FOR ARMED ROBBERY

Standerton – Three suspects
aged between 30 and 34, will be appearing before the Standerton Magistrate’s
Court on a business robbery charge tomorrow, 11 April 2014.
The
alleged six suspected suspects entered a clothing shop in Standerton and
pretended to be faithful customers Wednesday 9 April 2014.
The
men suddenly produced firearms, violently shout at the employees and customers
to stop their operations.
The
suspects violently forced the employees into the storeroom, tied them and
hastily took clothing and cellphones valued at R525 000. The customers not
immune from the acts of the criminals as one of them robbed of a firearm and
cash.
The
suspects fled the scene in three cars; a black VW Golf mounted with false
registration number VHY 288 GP, a white Hyundai with registration number XJD
882 GP and a white bakkie with unknown registration number.
Police
informed of the incident and swiftly managed to follow information regarding
the description of the vehicles given to them. Their diligence paid off as they
managed to corner three of the suspects at a road construction site near Greylingstad
and arrested them. Two vehicles fitting the description of the ones allegedly
involved in the robbery, the Golf and the Hyundai were confiscated. The stolen
items recovered.
The
Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thulani Ntobela is pleased with the
arrest and further asked the public to work together with the police in
identifying the remaining suspects.
