PHOSA TO HONOUR STUDENTS WHO WERE TRAINED IN THE
MANUFACTURING PROGRAMMES IN THE
PROVINCE

Mpumalanga MEC for Economic, Development Environment and Tourism, Mrs. YN
‘Pinky’ Phosa will honor 120 youth who have completed training in furniture
manufacturing, stainless steel products manufacturing and tool making. The
training is part of the Department’s contribution towards youth empowerment.
This follows a partnership between the Department
and the Furniture Technology Center based in White River;
the Mpumalanga Stainless Initiative (MSI); Mpumalanga Stainless Steel Cluster
(MSSC) and the Mpumalanga Tooling Initiative.
The training of the youth in furniture
manufacturing mainly aims at providing technical and business skills on
furniture manufacturing, including an option for post incubation or employment.
Through the Stainless Steel Cluster, Mpumalanga Steel Initiative and Mpumalanga
Tooling Initiative, the province aims to grow the stainless steel beautification, create opportunities for the previously disadvantaged
communities to enter the stainless steel business and the tool making business.
