Department stages Provincial Driver’s competition 

In an effort to enhance safe driving by heavy motor vehicles drivers, the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison will hold a Driver Of The Year (DOTY) Competition. The DOTY competition is an annual contest that is initiated in various districts of the province and the winners from the districts then compete provincially.

During the competition, the drivers will be awarded according to the following categories;

1.    Bus category for females

2.    Bus category for male

3.    Rigid category

4.    Rigid plus four wheel trailer category

5.    Articulated category

6.    3.5 Ton delivery vehicle category

The competition will be held as follows:

Date:              Friday, 23 October 2015 to Saturday, 24 October 2015

Time:                         7:00

Venue:           Kinross Weigh Bridge

MEC Vusi Shongwe is expected to award the winners in a ceremony scheduled as follows:
