POLICE INTERCEPT DRUGS MANUFACTURES
VERENA - An Intelligent Driven Sting Operation conducted by members of Crime Intelligence and the Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation (HAWKS) in Mpumalanga and yielded positive results. It led to the discovery of narcotic drugs to an estimated street value of several millions of rands and the arrest of three men aged between 34 and 38, including a Zimbabwean national.
The sting operation, which conducted yesterday, 03 December 2014, prompted by information gathered by diligent men and women in blue regarding a drug manufacturing lab that was situated in a certain farm outside Verena. Police went into the farm for a search and found the three suspects. During the search, they found and seized drugs which were in production, as well as other chemicals used in the manufacturing of drugs. Following the discovery of the drugs, and the trio nabbed on the spot. Police further seized a white Ford Laser which also found at the scene.
The suspects expected to appear at the Mkobola Magistrate’s Court in Kwaggafontein today, facing charges of manufacturing and dealing in drugs. 
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of police in Mpumalanga, Major General (Adv) Meshack Nogwanya has given unreserved praises to the units involved in this bust. “I also urge the community to work together with the police in identifying other illegal dealings in the province”, appealed Major General (Adv) Nogwanya.

The police are currently pursuing leads to determine the scope of the trio’s involvement in other criminal activities.
