LEARNING ACTIVITIES RESTORED TO NORMAL AT CYRIL CLARK SECONDARY SCHOOL

Learning and teaching at Cyril Clark Secondary School at Mataffin is back to normal after the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport added an extra bus to collect learners from Msholozi and Phumlani village. This brings the total number of busses to four (4), the move comes after learners at the school boycotted classes demanding additional busses since the number of learners in the school has increased.

In a bid to ensure that learners are ferried safely and on time to school, the Department has been working around the clock to monitor scholar transport system in the area in order to address the shortages. To date, there are 347 learners who reside at Msholozi and Phumlani who are using scholar Transport this year.

The Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport is responsible for the management of scholar transport in the province. In this academic year, Scholar Transport caters for more than 63 000 learners broken down as follows;

BOHLABELA            -   1724
EHLANZENI             -    5 242
NKANGALA              - 13 846
GERT SIBANDE      - 42 475

The department is urging the parents of learners to report any changes of residence or relocation to other areas especially if learners qualify for a scholar transport,  to respective school authorities.
