THE ROAD TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENT AGENCY PRESENTS “SIHAMBA
NE AARTO” PROVINCIAL STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT ROADSHOW IN MPUMALANGA
Middleburg: The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) in
partnership with the Mpumalanga Departments of Community Safety, Security and
Liaison and Public Works,Roads and Transport will host an Administrative
Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Act (AARTO) stakeholder engagement
roadshow from Thursday, 09 July to Friday 10 July 2015.
This
two- day roadshow will be the first leg of the countrywide “Sihamba ne AARTO” provincial stakeholder engagement campaigns
aimed at addressing the implementation plan and processes of the AARTO Act in
preparation of the national rollout and ensure that all role players understand
the legislation as it affects various categories of the community. The
discussions will include:

Adjudication Process,
·
AARTO
Amendment Bill,
·
Role
of Issuing Authorities; the Justice System
and South African Police Services(SAPS)

Attending
the event will be MEC of Community Safety, Security and Liaison Mr Vusi
Shongwe, Senior Officials from both the Department of Community Safety,
Security and Liaison and Public Works, Roads and Transport, Senior Officials of
the National Department of Transport, CEO of the RTIA Mr. Japh Chuwe and his
Executive Committee ,Provincial representatives from various critical
stakeholders such as South African Local Government Assosiaction(SALGA),
Department of Justice, SAPS, transport operators and Interfaith Movement.
Community
members and stakeholders will also have an opportunity to check their traffic
fine status.
