Off duty warrant officer found a deadly weapon at Taxi
He is known for the gospel he has been preaching to the community, surrender illegal firearms.
Warrant officer Themba Twala who is the spokesperson for Bushbuckridge region apparently bounced of the deadly weapon. When the suspected suspect who is believed to have wanted to attack one of the Taxi drivers with his knife like a pistol, saw the no-nonsense officer allegedly drops his weapon.
Warrant officer Themba Twala said, “I was walking around the Taxi Rank looking for my cousin together with my friend. I saw something coming from the man’s pocket and the man disappeared. When I went closer to investigate, I couldn’t believe my eyes. At first I thought it was a firearm when I picked it I saw that it’s a knife which looks like a gun.”
It happened at Bushbuckridge Taxi Rank on Monday at 14:15pm.
The campaign for the people to surrender unlicensed weapons ended recently but still other people are still having their home made weapons.
Twala told Bvunza Mutupo News that the weapon might have used to rob and even to kill people because it is very sharp. “The weapon has no serial number for to use when tracing it.”
Warrant officer Themba Twala took the home made modified weapon to Bushbuckridge police where it was registered as a lost and found property.
Warrant officer Themba Twala pleads with the people that are still in position of illegal firearms and other erous weapons that are not allowed to use.
